SUSTAINABILITY

We take responsibility.

It is not easy to do things right. But it's worth it. And while we are not yet a 100% impact-free brand, we try our best to improve and innovate.

We have spent years finding the best factories to work with, ones who have the same sustainable vision as us - and commit to it by continuously reducing their environmental impact.

Here are some of the sustainable production processes we are proud to have adopted.

RECYCLING WATER

The tanneries we work with use chrome tanning, done with a chemical called chromium - 90% of all leather today is done this way. It results in softer, less prone to stains material, making the final product more long-lasting.

All of our suppliers recycle their waste water, which means that post-production water is sent to recycling point, where the chemicals are separated and the water is recycled for further use. It is a strictly regulated and impactful process. See more.

REDUCING CO2

We reduce our CO2 emissions by having our suppliers close to the factories, so there is as little transport as possible. It is a practice, known as KM0 (kilometre zero) in Italian food circles - using local ingredients in close proximity.

We also encourage our factories to use local producers for the smaller components, located in a radius less than 100km, in order to reduce our carbon trace and help the local economy in Tuscany.

POWERED BY SUNLIGHT

All of our nappa and suede models come from our main leather supplier, where we first found luxury leftover leathers in unique colours. We loved the idea of giving purpose to quality materials left behind because of a wrong colour or overproduction.

We also loved that this small tannery used traditional methods as well as renewable energy - they are powered by solar panels! See more.
