Our projects

BIODIVERSITY

With the "Respect the Butterfly" campaign in 2021, we raised DKK 42,500 to support a project on biodiversity in collaboration with Michael Kjerkegaard and Vejle municipality. For many years, Michael has worked with holistic grazing, where the cows graze in a system that gives the soil time to grow wild, and new plants and flowers a chance to emerge.

The fields are divided into many small paddocks, which are grazed by animals for a short time. The grass is then left to photosynthesize for 25-60 days, before the animals return and graze it. The mission is to make the soil more fertile and better able to retain water when the plants have time to develop a larger root network.

TreeSisters

With the “Respect the Rainforest” campaign in 2020, we celebrated the organization TreeSisters and their work in educating local women in 12 tropical countries to plant trees and care for them. The profit from the campaign was enough to plant 10,000 trees and then we chose to double the amount, so we ended up donating enough money to plant 20,000 trees.

For every shoe we sold from this collection, we donated money to TreeSisters and until April 2022 we raised money to plant another 1,588 trees.

Respect the seahorse

With the "Respect the Seahorse" campaign in 2021, we raised DKK 21,000 to support the organization Project Seahorse and their fight to protect marine areas from bottom trawling, a method of fishing that, among other things, threatens the seahorses' survival. Project Seahorse was established in 1994 by, among others, Amanda Vincent, the first biologist in the world to study seahorses underwater and develop "conservation programs" for their survival.

PEOPLE

Our shoes are made by women for women and named after some of the coolest of them. Our community is involved in the entire design process, from idea to finished shoe, and a close partner in constantly improving comfort. Every year we raise money for an organization that inspires women to stand strong.

PLANET

We focus on durable materials, good craftsmanship and high quality, so that our products last for many years. Our factories are all family owned and are some of the best in the world. We work with metal-free, vegetable and chrome-tanned leather, and use approx. 30% Danish hides in all of our production.

PRODUCT

Our shoes are made to last for many years, so we facilitate both repairs of your shoes and the resale of pre-loved models, as well as working to create a transparent value chain with QR codes in our shoes that show the shoe's entire journey.

PURPOSE

Our mission is to inspire women to stand strong and take their place in the world. With our Rebels campaigns, we celebrate the women who are not afraid to stand up for themselves and others, and create a community where we lift and inspire others to stand strong.
