Our Alba shoes are named after filmmaker and musician Maya Albana. With curiosity and presence, Maya tells stories that make room for nuance and new perspectives. Through several of her documentaries, including The Black Chapter, A Dancer Dies Twice, The Other Prince and Natasja Forever, she places people's lives and lived experiences at the heart of her work – with a distinctive sense of sensitivity that inspires reflection and insight. Alongside her work as a filmmaker, Maya is also a singer and songwriter, using music as another creative space for self-expression. The Alba shoes are therefore a tribute to Maya's way of meeting the world with curiosity, courage and creativity - and to all the stories that deserve to be told every single day.
